What is Adina House like?

Adina House is a large two storey home situated just a five minute walk from the waterfront in Deception Bay. Set in a quiet street, it offers four large verandahs, views of the water and is in walking distance to the local shopping centre.

The house offers a warm and welcoming ‘guest house’ like atmosphere designed to help individuals relax and enjoy themselves.  A range of recreational activities are also available to guests.  Unwind with a coffee out on the verandah, ride a bicycle along the waterfront, have a picnic lunch down by the water, go shopping, or participate in planned activities.

At Adina, we take things slowly, so guests have the time to focus on the important things in life, like health, wellness and recovery.

We are committed to treating all guests as unique and important individuals and focus on their comfort, wellbeing and happiness during their stay.
Hopefully this will provide carers with the time to ensure that their own physical, social and emotional needs are met and give them the opportunity to involve themselves in activities they find personally satisfying and rewarding.

What does Adina Family Support offer?

Adina Family Support aims to assist people with mental illness and their carers to take a break and facilitate rejuvenation time for everyone.
Respite Support offered at Adina includes support in the family home; taking a break by staying at Adina House and participating in activities and outings in the community.
We encourage families to register with the service in order to organise planned short term breaks including:
•    Staying at Adina House
•    Participating in community activities
•    Support in the family home
•    Flexible support in the event of unforeseen circumstances that may impact on families and individuals such as ill health of a primary care giver
